Erasmus I

The University of International and Public Relations Prague continues in European inter-university cooperation based on the granted Erasmus University Charter.

The Erasmus programme is an integral part of the European Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP) under which it focuses on cooperation of higher education institutions. The Erasmus programme has operated in Europe since 1987, and since 1998 in the Czech Republic. All Czech public universities, both state and private, and selected higher vocational schools can participate in the programme. Erasmus Programme was a part of Socrates II Programme until 2006.

 

Forms of participation

Study exchange programme

  • Study programme at a foreign higher education institution for 3 to 12 months.

Intensive language course

  • Intensive language course of a less frequent language before the study programme for a maximum of 6 weeks.

  • 27 EU member states
  • 3 EFTA countries – Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway
  • 1 candidate country (Turkey).

Exchange programme conditions:

  • Students must be enrolled in the 2nd or 3rd year of Bachelor’s degree programme, or 1st or 2nd year of Master’s degree programme
  • Students may study full time as well as part time
  • Students must be nationals of a country participating in the LLP programme; if they are third-country nationals then they must have a permanent residence permit to stay in the country participating in the LLP programme, be stateless persons, or have a granted refugee status
  • After the exchange programme the students are obliged to provide their home university with a result transcript from their exchange programme, a confirmation of the length of stay and  a written final report
  • The study abroad is fully recognized by the home university (students receive credits for modules passed at the foreign university).
